Standard pneumatic tyres filled with our own U410 polyurethane compound.

Europur has developed a special polyurethane material for filling standard pneumatic tyres.

Compared with an inner tube, foam is relatively harder and has higher rolling resistance. The tyre can be filled with a softer foam, but the result is again a higher rolling resistance of the wheel. The solution is the new polyurethane compound U410 with excellent dynamic properties: it can be softer while keeping low rolling resistance.

Material and its characteristics

Two tests serve as the basis for the comparison tests: the radial deformation test and the rebound resilience test.

Radial deformation

With the new U410 foam, the deformation properties have come close to a conventional pneumatic tyre.

Rebound resilience

Higher rebound resilience means lower rolling resistance and less force to move a wheelchair. Europur has come close to the rolling resistance of a conventional pneumatic tyre.
