Glass Coat
An anodic layer with a top coat for aluminium parts that must resist corrosion and chemicals. The surface can be coloured.
An anodic layer with a top coat for aluminium parts that must resist corrosion and chemicals. The surface can be coloured.
Glass Coat combines an anodic layer with a top coat. An aluminium part can thus withstand up to 3000 hours in neutral salt spray.
The anodic layer forms by converting the aluminium surface into aluminium oxide, so it is firmly bonded to the base material and does not peel. On top of it we apply a top coat that can be coloured. Glass Coat is a new addition to our portfolio.

Parts in extremely corrosive environments, up to 3000 hours in salt spray.
Parts exposed to aggressive chemicals, where anodizing and passivation reach their limits.
Parts that must be as resistant as possible and coloured at the same time.
Why choose Glass Coat
Find out in 30 seconds whether Glass Coat is the right choice for your part. If you are not sure, send us a drawing and a technician will advise you.
Extreme corrosion load
Your part is in an environment where standard surface treatments are not enough: salt, moisture, maintenance-free outdoor use. Glass Coat withstands up to 3000 hours in neutral salt spray.
Aggressive chemicals
The part comes into contact with chemicals. The anodic layer on its own is porous; the top coat seals it and creates a chemical barrier.
Resistance and colour
You need high resistance and the part must also look good. Glass Coat can be coloured, so you do not have to choose between function and appearance. We confirm the available shades with your enquiry.
Technical
specifications
A combination of an anodic layer and a ceramic top coat. The anodic layer gives the surface hardness and a firm bond with the base material, and the ceramic top coat adds a chemical and corrosion barrier. The system can be coloured.
Up to 3000 hours in neutral salt spray (NSS test). For comparison: SURTEC 650 passivation achieves 336 hours (ISO 9227) and electroless nickel more than 96 hours at a layer thickness of 25 µm.
